Getting there and back
- By Metro. St James station is right by the stadium, and Haymarket and Monument are a few minutes’ walk. At his past shows here, some stations closed or were exit-only in the evening, so check Nexus’s concert travel page for your night.
- By train. Newcastle Central is about 15 minutes’ walk from St James’ Park, with trains from London, Edinburgh, Durham and across the North.
- On foot. The stadium is in the city centre, so if you stay in town you can walk there and back.
- By car. There’s no parking at the stadium for concerts, and the roads around the city centre get very busy. If you have to drive, use an established car park well away from the ground.
- After the show. At his last St James’ Park shows, extra Metro trains ran late and shuttle buses left from the city centre. Expect queues, and know how you’re getting back before you book.
Booking tips
- Book as soon as you have tickets. His St James’ Park shows have sold out before, and the closest places go first.
- Stay over on the Thursday. The first night is a weeknight, so if you’re travelling in, staying over saves a late journey home.
- Count beds, not bedrooms. Going as a group? Check how many separate beds there are, and who would be sharing.
- Spread the cost. When check-in is at least 15 days away, pay half when you book and the rest a week before you arrive, with no extra fees.
