It’s a nice place, beds are comfortable and is really close to the town, probably some things to be replaced but still a good place to be.

Apartment 4 is beautiful and in a great location for exploring Durham. We got in rather late the first night, and it was raining, so we had some trouble finding the right key box among the four, only because we didn't notice the numbers on the side. But other than that, the description of the lane and how to find it were spot on, and the apartment is clean and well-maintained. We didn't have a car so we walked everywhere, even to Finchale Abbey. It's an uphill climb back to the apartment from the center of town, as others have noted, but if you're in relatively good shape it's not a problem at all--and gives one a good appetite. Just don't carry a very large bag of groceries! I enjoyed running the Riverwalk and we toured the castle and went to Evensong at the cathedral. It was especially nice that our son could join us during our stay, as he was at a conference at the university. We would definitely rent the apartment again.
