Getting there and back
- By tram. The stadium has its own Metrolink stop, Etihad Campus, about five minutes’ walk from the ground, and a few minutes from Piccadilly. On big concert nights Metrolink usually runs extra and double-length trams.
- On foot. There’s a lit, signposted walking route from Manchester Piccadilly station that takes about 30 minutes.
- By train. Ashburys station is one stop from Piccadilly and about 20 minutes’ walk from the stadium.
- By car. Official parking on the Etihad Campus has to be booked ahead, and on the busiest days you can’t buy it on arrival. Roads around the stadium close after the show to let people walk out, so expect a wait to leave.
- After the show. Tens of thousands of people leave at once, so expect queues for the tram. Staying within walking distance, or on the tram line itself, makes the end of the night much easier.
Booking tips
- Book as soon as you have tickets. With 11 nights and half a million fans, the closest places go first.
- Count beds, not bedrooms. Going as a group? Check how many separate beds there are, and who would be sharing.
- Check how you get in. Self check-in means you can arrive whenever your train gets in, and you won’t be waiting for a key after a late finish.
- Spread the cost. When check-in is at least 15 days away, pay half when you book and the rest a week before you arrive, with no extra fees.
