Getting there and back
- By Tube. Green Park and St James’s Park are a few minutes’ walk from The Mall, and Charing Cross is by Trafalgar Square at its eastern end. Expect the stations near the course to be very busy.
- By train. Victoria and Charing Cross are within walking distance of The Mall, and London’s other main stations are a short Tube ride away.
- On the day. The route closes fully to traffic and parked cars are moved off it, so the organisers ask spectators to walk or cycle to where they watch. You can usually walk or cycle on the closed roads until about 30 minutes before the publicity caravan, which comes through around two hours ahead of the riders.
- Watching. The course is a circuit, so you can see the teams pass in more than one place. The route, start and timings are still to be published.
- By car. Don’t drive into central London on race day. Roads on the course close, and the organisers will publish travel plans closer to the time.
