The location is not very convenient, far from Durham city canter, but a bus stop is very close. The ground floor is well decorated. No shampoo or conditioner, you need to bring your own.

The place was really good for 5 people. The rooms were very comfortable and with plenty of furniture to leave your clothes. The general area was very peaceful and close to public paths. ideal for taking small walks through the woods. Overall, very nice place. Totally reccomended.

Check in was easy, on road parking available outside the house. It’s a spacious 3 bed house, and appeared newly renovated. It’s a quiet cul-de-sac. Decent garden for the kids to run around. Negative - Greeted by a front door handle coated in old bird mess. Unfortunately the beds were extremely uncomfortable due to cheap thin mattresses where you could feel the springs in your back. For 3 days we had poor sleep. Also the shower was running cold (suspect mixer fault) but hot water on and luckily there was a bath. Also quite a bit of mould on the kitchen floor under the lino. Messaged the host and tried the out of hrs number but no response until the our last day. Overall, disappointed, attention to detail and maintenance needed for the future.

Me and my partner needed a place for our visit to Durham after our hotel let us down very last minute. The house is basic but clean with everything you need such as cooking equipment, towels, soap etc. It is on an estate in a quiet cul de sac. It’s around a 15 minutes drive from Durham centre and is a great spot for going back after exploring Newcastle to sleep and wash. There was only two issues we encountered with a stay. First the bed in the master bedroom was uncomfortable. Just full of springs coming through. The second was the boiler. It was an old boiler and would take a good few minutes to heat up and when it did heat up it was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The two issues weren’t enough to ruin our stay or anything but they do need changing for the future. Fern and the team were great and we enjoyed our stay.
