We stayed over Christmas to visit our family as we live abroad. Kate had put a lovely Christmas tree up which I thought was a lovely touch. The house is of a good size,plenty of room for our 3 teenage boys,the attic space with its own toilet was a godsend! The kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc, great to cook our Christmas dinner, which we ate in the separate dining room with a huge table that easily seated the 7 of us. The log burner was lovely to light on a cold winter's afternoon. We know the area per se, but had never stayed here. The butcher over the road is a lovely fella and his products are sublime. There's a Post office/stores within walking distance, as are 2 pubs and other amenities. Everything is on your doorstep. One thing missing is a downstairs toilet , me and my 81 year old parents who came for dinner , struggled to get up and down the steep bedroom stairs. All in all, we loved the house and Kate is a good host.

This is our new go-to place whenever we’re in Sheffield for work or a holiday. The property and space were amazing—we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Everything was comfortable, welcoming, and thoughtfully done. You won’t be disappointed!

Great place. very clean lots of space. Visit the butchers across the road you won't be disappointed. great location for ponds forge.

Great central place for the local area, plus Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and local attractions. Shopping conveniences are very close, general store, post office and local butcher were just across the road. Good counter meals within a short walk and friendly locals.
