Choosing a cancellation policy
Pick how much guests get back if they cancel, for short and long stays.
Each listing has two policies: one for stays under 28 nights and one for stays of 28 nights or more. Guests see the one that applies before they book. Set them in your listing’s settings.
Stays under 28 nights
| Policy | If the guest cancels |
|---|---|
| Flexible | Full refund 48+ hours before check-in. No refund within 48 hours. |
| Moderate | Full refund 5+ days before check-in. No refund within 5 days. |
| Firm | Full refund 14+ days before check-in. 50% refund within 14 days. |
| Strict | 50% refund 7+ days before check-in. No refund within 7 days. |
Stays of 28 nights or more
| Policy | If the guest cancels |
|---|---|
| Flexible | Full refund 30+ days before check-in. 50% refund within 30 days. |
| Strict | Full refund 30+ days before check-in. No refund within 30 days. |
Moderate is the most popular with hosts for short stays, and Flexible for long ones. A more flexible policy can win more bookings.
