Important: These House Rules are a quick reference guide and are to be followed in addition to the signed Terms of Stay. Breaches may incur charges as outlined in your contract. Instruction manuals for electronic devices and further information can be found in the pink folder located on the shelf in the dining room. ________________________________________ 1. Cleanliness – Clean As You Go We expect a clean-as-you-go approach to be the norm in shared spaces: • Wash and put away your dishes in your allocated cupboard(s) after use. • Wipe down all surfaces, especially after cooking. • Ventilate the kitchen when cooking, also make sure to use the extractor fan • Do not leave food debris or spills. • Leave the shower, bath, sink, and toilet clean for the next person. • Do not drain dishes on the windowsill – as it will damage the sealant. • Always store pans and utensils in the cupboards provided, not on surfaces. • Do not over fill bins. • Sweep, mop, or hoover floors when needed – equipment is provided. • Spare bedding is provided on your clothes rack. A mattress protector must always be used. • Excessive cleaning required by our team will incur an additional charge, payable within 2 days of notification. 2. Housekeeper • The housekeeper is not there to tidy up after you. Please respect this. • Housekeeper visits fortnightly. • Please try not to occupy communal spaces whilst they are visiting, this will allow cleaning to be done efficiently. 3. Guests • Strictly no guests allowed. • Only paying guests who have signed the contract are permitted in the property. • Unauthorised guests will result in a charge of £50 per person. 4. Smoking & Tobacco products • No smoking inside the house. A fine of £75 will be charged for breaches. • The use of chewing tobacco or similar substances that require spitting is strictly prohibited inside the property. Charges will apply for any reside or damage caused. • Be considerate to neighbours. • Dispose of cigarette ends & Tobacco products responsibly—do not litter the gardens or public paths. 5. Furniture • Do not move any furniture. Doing so may result in fines or termination of your stay. 6. Noise Control • Please keep noise to a minimum between 10 PM and 8 AM. 7. Damages • Report any damages or problems immediately for quicker resolution. 8. Recycling & Refuse • Follow the recycling/refuse calendar shared in the WhatsApp group. • Do not allow rubbish to pile up—keep on top of bin days. • Share responsibilities fairly 9. Parking • One parking space is available at the rear. • Additional on street parking is available on Gilwilly Road, alongside Cleanspec Cumbria. Details will have been provided in your welcome email and WhatsApp group. • Parking is not permitted on Musgrave Street without a permit, you may incur a fine. 10. Heating • Use heating responsibly. Overuse will result in additional charges. • do not use the log burner. 11. Ventilation • Open windows regularly to allow airflow and prevent mould. 12. Washing Machine • Do not over fill the washing machine, the general rule is to fill to maximum of ¾. • After use, please leave the door open to air out. ________________________________________ House Information Spare Items (in black boxes – 1st floor cupboard): • Spare bulbs (notify us if more are needed) • Dustpan & brush • Hand towels and shower mat • TV manuals Emergency Lighting: • Plug-in torches are not to be turned off at the plug. Remove from the holster for use in emergencies. Make sure to return to the property. • Additional torches are in the kitchen drawer.
